Set in Malaya during the World War II, this story traces the life of a matriarch and the struggles she faces in raising her family. The narrative voice alters between the men and women of this amazing tale. The reader will come across myths that are cleverly woven into the story and enjoy the imagery that it evokes.
A good read for students who want some insight into the history of Malaya and the unheard stories. It also captures the strength of an individual in the face of adversary and introduces us to understanding various perspectives of a situation.
International Medical University: Learning Resources
Welcome to the IMU Library blog! We will use this site to keep you informed of the learning resources available, new additions as they are acquired and events that will benefit library users. We will also direct you to online resources that you may find useful.
The Learning Resources Dept at the International Medical University incorporates the Medical Library, the Medical Museum, the E-Learning Unit and the Clinical Skills Unit.
The Library is divided into two main areas: A Collaborative Learning Area where discussion is encouraged and supported (in keeping with the PBL philosophy) as well as a Quiet Learning Area where private study is encouraged and discussion is confined to private study cubicles for small groups.
The Medical Museum is integrated with the Library as are the E-Laboratories where access to digital learning resources and the Internet are made available for student use.
